Lake Thurmond is located on The South Carolina/ Georgia border. This lake is the 3rd lake in a string of lakes on the Savannah River owned by the US Army Corp. of Engineers built in 1954. The 1993 State Record Striped Bass weighing 55lbs and 12 ounces was caught in Lake Thurmond. Not only is this lake great for striper fishermen, it's wide- and a great place to water-ski. There are numerous lakeside businesses. This section is "work in progress" so please check back often. I am very interested in news about Lake Thurmond.
