Lake Hartwell is located on the Georgia- South Carolina line in Anderson County at the base of The Blue Ridge Mountains.

   

 Classic~ This Weekend on Lake  Hartwell.

     Top teams from all Angler's Advantage Divisions will be competing for nearly $50,000 in cash and prizes including a new Ranger 185VS Bass Boat on Lake Hartwell, November 15th & 16th.

   Take off will be at 7am each morning and weigh ins will begin at 3 each afternoon at Hartwell Marina.

Randy Brown and Teammate- "On The Rock's" finished 4th out of 100 teams to secure an invitation to the National Striped Bass Association's- National  at Lake Lanier, GA.

    Hartwell Open Striper Tournament

     The Appalachian Striper Club will host an National Striped Bass Association www.fishnsba.com sanctioned tournament  on Jan. 3, 2004 on Lake Hartwell. Randy Brown, VP of The Appalachian Striper Club, and Tournament Director can be contacted  at (864) 287-8433.

1st Pro Striper Tournament on NSBA Tour for 2004

    The NSBA will host a tournament on Lake Hartwell Jan. 30 -February 1, 2004. This tournament will be the first of a new series of tournaments for the NSBA called the MEGA tournament series and features a Pro Division with a two day format and a low cost fun and family oriented Division that fishes only one day.

Largemouth Bass: Fair, using 5 to 6-inch lizards, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, topwater lures, and Trick worms fishing off points. Also try fishing in coves.  

Striped and Hybrid Bass: Good, try live herring with down-rods in deep water around river channels in 15 to 25 feet deep. Trolling activity has increased, try depths of 15 to 25 feet of water.
Schooling activity on the lake has increased.  

Crappie: Fair to good, using small minnows, grubs and small jigs. Fish are moving into deeper water
around brush piles.  

Catfish: Fair, using cut herring, nightcrawlers, shrimp and chicken livers on the bottom.  Bream: Fair, using redworms and crickets around brush piles and cover.
