Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, Camp Woodie  hosted a Free Father and Son Draw Deer Hunt.  Located in Remini,  S. C.,  approximately 12 miles west of Summerton,  S.C.,  Camp Woodie has been  nationally recognized as an  International Youth Waterfowl Education Center focusing on the future of Waterfowl Heritage and conservation.

"Eleven winners were chosen, " said Windy  Greene, of The Big Water Lake Club. " Three were unable to make it. They really had a great time. Winners hunted at Camp Woodie Friday afternoon. Dinner was served and overnight accommodations were provided. Saturday morning began with breakfast followed by a morning hunt. The food was excellent and it was a great way for family and friends to spend time together. It was a successful outing with many different species of ducks seen. One doe deer was harvested by Scott Eadie ."

The winners of the Father & Son Draw Deer Hunt were: Harry Jenner, Joe Hamilton, Chris Bolen, Tony Hunt, Kurt Goodwin, Hubert McCranie, David Ayer, & Scott Eadie. All winners brought with them their sons, daughter, or family friends. The event  was  filmed for The SC Outdoors TV Show with Carl Harrington to be aired some time in February.

"One Team Winner will be chosen from the drawing to enjoy the Dec. 17th, 2005 Quail Hunt at Deerfield Plantation,"  said Greene.  Deerfield Plantation is located outside St. George, S.C., 45 miles from Charleston S.C. and 70 miles from Columbia, S. C. . Deerfield Plantation  prides itself in Southern hospitality consisting  of 10,000 acres located along the Edisto River, Indian Field and Polk Swamps in Quality Management and  3,000 acres in Trophy Management.  Friday evening hunters will practice shooting clay targets, be served  traditional "Low Country" plantation style cooking and  enjoy the lodge accommodations. The quail hunt will be Saturday morning, break for lunch around noon, and then hunt Saturday afternoon. "They are really going to have a great time," says Greene.

These hunts sponsored by Big Water Lake Club were in support of the South Carolina Waterfowl Association Youth Education and Wetlands Conservation, " said Windy  Greene.
