Cabela's King Kat Tournament Results for South Carolina Lakes Marion/Moultrie-The Santee Cooper Lakes
High winds don't slow down big cats on Santee Cooper
The Big Cats were on the move this past Saturday February 21st in the Cabela's King Kat Santee Cooper Lakes tournament where Mike Harduff and Jerry Walker took first place with 175.1 pound of fish. The wind was a big factor blowing in from the west at 30 MPH. Harduff and Walker also had big fish of the tournament weighing in a 60.45 Santee Cooper cat.

Winning Big Fish at Cabela's King Kat, Black's Camp, Feb. 21st weighed in at 60.45 lbs. caught by the Team of Harduff & Walker.
In all over 250 spectators were in attendance to see fishermen represented from 18 different states. Marion/Moultrie, the Santee Cooper Lakes are well known for some of the best catfishing in the South.
In first place was the team of Mike Harduff of Monroe, Nebraska and Jerry Walker of Gretna, Nebraska with a total weight of 175.1 pound. The team also took big fish of the tournament with a Santee Cooper 60.45 pound cat. Harduff and Walker were fishing the east side of Moultrie in 39 feet of water using solid blood bait. The first place team took home a check for $2,050.00 and a new Minn Kota AP 65 Trolling motor.

Taking second place was the team of Keith Leggett of Barnesville, GA and Randall Cowart of Ellabell, GA with a total of 140.3 pounds of fish and taking home $1,100.00. Leggett and Cowart were also fishing the east side of Moultrie using mullet for bait

Third place went to the team of Tim Farris of lake Wylie, SC and John Bean of Cross, SC with 128.6 pound of fish. Farris and Bean were using a little different tactic fishing in only 3 feet of water on the west side of Moultrie using mullet for bait. The team took home $825.00 for third place.

Coming in fourth was the team of Stan and Mark Maxwell of Bowman, GA weighing in 111.55 pound of fish. The Maxwell's were fishing the east side of Moultrie in 45 feet of water dragging mullet. For fourth place the team took home a check for $450.00.

4th Place~ Maxwell & Maxwell
Finishing in fifth place was the Elberton, GA team of Wayne Burger and David Capell weighing in 105.9 pound and taking home a check for $225.00. The team was dragging mullet in 36 feet of water on the east side of Moultrie.
