Rows of new gear line the shelves. A young fisherman, Dillon, of Eutaw Springs, was very excited about the new fishing gear. "I'm gonna get this pole," he said. "Their prices are really great!"

"They're going back to Danny Bell's original plan," said Billie Watkins of Signs by Bill, who was restoring the original sign of Bell's established in 1962 and Grand Opening Banners. "Offering a complete line of tackle and boating hardware and accessories. The store has been remodel with new wood floors and has everything you need for a great trip." With the low lake levels Bells is one of the very few landings where you can safely launch your boat. The low levels have also disclosed a very large barge that has been submerged since a fire destroyed it in 1948. The new owners contacted Santee Cooper to see about removing the barge. Archeologist have examined the barge and have declared it historical due to it's unique design. Since the burning of the vessell in 1948 locals thought the barge burned and was gone so many were amazed to discover that it was still there- next to the gas dock with the burn marks on the wood still visible. There is discussion of raising the barge and displaying it for others to see.

"We will be extending our Restaurant hours", says Jennifer Berry. "We will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mon. through Sat.. Sundays hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.." Remodeling is  planned for the Restaurant, too.

Also as a part of the remodeling and landscaping many trees have been taken down next to Eutaw Creek and new Palm Trees now dot the shoreline and great you from the highway.
